Emile Pandolfi The Performer
In 1994, Emile agreed to do a fund-raising concert for a local United Way agency. In this concert, Emile combined
his gift for comedy with his pianistic ability for the first time. He has since performed this show in the East and other
selected areas to sold out audiences and standing ovations (some at intermission!). Many of these performances
have been fund-raisers and he has raised over $100,000 for charity on a limited performance schedule.
Recognized as one of the premier pop pianists today, Emile is a Steinway Artist. His shows concentrate on music
from his albums, of which there are currently sixteen. Emile's recordings have been sold in gift and book stores
across the nation since 1991, and he is reportedly the #1 seller in this market. Currently, he has sold over 1.8 million
albums. His musical repertoire includes classical and his own arrangements of popular Broadway show tunes, movie
themes and standards.
While the emphasis of the show is Emile's music, his comedy plays an important part. All of Emile's comedy is
designed for family audiences. "Emile Pandolfi in Concert" is more than a concert - Emile's talent as a comedian is
very much in evidence.
Emile also offers a much-expanded show, called "An Evening with Emile" which utilizes sets, a video projection
system, magic, and expanded lighting. This show requires a crew of five plus local help with a load-in time of 8
hours.
The bottom line of Emile's performance is: "Did the audience feel entertained from beginning to end?" So far, the
answer has been a resounding "Yes". A "victim of recitals" while growing up, Emile is determined that his audiences
will feel a variety of emotions as he plays for them; and in addition, have wonderful fun in a relaxed atmosphere.
While all of the music is played legitimately, the comedy was written to stand on it's own. Equally important, the
show is appropriate for family audiences.
After the performance, Emile makes it a regular practice to appear in the lobby within minutes, in order that fans
may meet him, take pictures and have him sign autographs. He is generally there for about 45 minutes but has
spent as long as 90 minutes to accommodate fans. During this time, fans discover that the charisma and bright
smile that they have seen on the stage are, indeed, sincerely Emile. And his love of piano is only overshadowed by
the delight he takes in meeting people of all ages.
